A news round up - 12 September 2012

More news you may have missed:
  • Over the last forty years, the number of Baptists in the United States of America has decreased by 25%.
  • Administrators at Ventura High School in California have banned an offensive chicken sandwich. I knew these are bizarre days in which we live, but I didn't realize they were this bizarre yet.
  • Paleontologists have unearthed the fossilized remains of a Spinosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur even to swim the waters of the earth, in the Sahara Desert. As if it weren't obvious enough, this discovery - among others - shows that the oceans have changed increased and receded in various places for centuries, even millennia.
  • Because it spans the globe, the Catholic Church faces various problems in various parts of the world that are often unknown in places where they aren't prevalent, like polygamy. This will be one of the many issues the upcoming two Synods on the family will have to discuss.
